pretty trashy story isn't it? Some have accused me of being cynical about human nature when I wrote this....but just think of H.L.Mencken.....

An inspiration to us all

 

      Consider the strange example of Vincent Van Gogh, alas poor Vince was a notorious loser during his miserable lifetime. Yet he somehow managed to rise somehow out of his unknown artist status after his death. Now-a-days, just about all his works are easily worth hundreds of millions of dollars - if you notice when they sell at auction. Do you think poor Vince could have gotten any of that windfall while he was still around to appreciate it?

      Heck no!!!! The poor sap only sold two of his paintings while he was alive and died in horrendous poverty. He even cut off his own ear in some terrible blue funk of depression. That's something I could never do - I need my ears to hold up my  thick glasses!
